Terms of Use

Last updated: [DATE] · Applies to scribecourse.com and the Explorer course

⚠️ DRAFT — NOT YET REVIEWED BY COUNSEL. Complete every bracketed field and have this reviewed before publication. The limitation of liability and governing law clauses in particular need a lawyer's eye. Remove this box when done.

These terms apply when you use scribecourse.com or the Explorer course. If you don't agree with them, please don't use it.

What this course is

Explorer is an educational introduction to clinical documentation and healthcare careers, written for students aged 14 to 18.

It is not medical training and it does not qualify anyone to do anything. Completing it is not a professional credential, a certification, or a licence. It does not permit anyone to work as a medical scribe, to document real patient care, or to provide any form of healthcare.

Nothing in this course is medical advice. Every patient, encounter, note and record in it is invented. Any resemblance to a real person or a real visit is coincidental.

Academic credit

We provide a syllabus, an hours log, an assessment rubric and a certificate of completion. We do not award academic credit and cannot. Credit is granted by a school, umbrella organisation, or parent acting as instructor of record, under whatever standards apply where you live. Check those before assuming a credit value.

Who may use it

The pilot

During the pilot the course is provided free of charge and as it is. It may change, break, or be taken down while we improve it. In exchange we ask for honest feedback, including about the parts that don't work.

What belongs to whom

The course — its text, code, design, patient scenarios and audio — belongs to [LEGAL ENTITY NAME]. You may use it for the education of the students you enrolled. Please don't copy it, republish it, resell it, or use it to build something else.

Anything you write during the course, and any feedback you send us, stays yours. By sending feedback you allow us to use it to improve the course.

Limits

We've built this carefully and had the clinical content reviewed by a physician. Even so, it is provided without warranty, and we can't promise it will be free of errors or available at all times.

To the extent the law allows, [LEGAL ENTITY NAME] is not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from use of this course, and our total liability is limited to [LIABILITY CAP — for a free pilot, typically the amount paid, i.e. nothing].

Nothing here limits liability for anything that cannot lawfully be limited — including death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud.

Ending it

You can stop at any time, and ask us to delete your information — see the privacy policy. We can withdraw access if these terms are broken, or when the pilot ends.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of [STATE], and disputes will be handled by the courts of [JURISDICTION].

Changes

We may update these terms. If we do, we'll change the date at the top and tell anyone taking part where the change matters.
